Kim Kardashian’s private jet is a Gulfstream G650ER that the press calls Kim Air. The FAA registry lists the aircraft as N1980K, registered to a company called Noel Air LLC in West Hollywood, California.
That is the short version. The longer one covers what the registry actually proves, what the reported price tags are worth, and what it takes to fly in the same class of aircraft without owning one.
The short answer
Yes, reporting ties Kim Kardashian to a Gulfstream G650ER nicknamed Kim Air. FAA registry records show N1980K, a 2011 airframe, registered to Noel Air LLC with a certificate issued on January 13, 2022. The registry names the company, not Kim, so the link to her rests on press coverage.
What kind of plane does Kim Kardashian have?
The aircraft is a Gulfstream G650ER, a large-cabin, ultra-long-range jet. In the FAA database the model is entered as a Gulfstream GVI, which is the manufacturer’s internal designation for the G650 family. The record for N1980K shows a manufacture year of 2011, serial number 6011, and a status of Valid.
The registered owner is Noel Air LLC, with an address in West Hollywood. FAA records show the current certificate was issued on January 13, 2022. That date matters: a registration certificate is reissued when ownership or details change, so it tells you when the present registration took effect, not when the airframe was built or first flew.
Kim’s middle name is Noel, which is why the company name reads as hers. We treat that as a pointer, not as proof. Aircraft are routinely held in single-purpose LLCs, and the FAA record shows the LLC, not the person behind it.
SlashGear, in a piece by Jack Picone published on October 5, 2023, describes the jet as a Gulfstream G650ER dubbed Kim Air and notes that it has appeared on The Kardashians, the Hulu series. A later SlashGear roundup by Andrew Ekuwem, published October 18, 2025, names the tail number: it says she owns a G650ER registered as N1980K. We treat the tail number as registry fact and the personal link as press-reported.
What the registry can and cannot tell you
The registry confirms an aircraft exists, what it is, and which entity holds the registration. It does not tell you who flies on it, who paid for it, or whether it is leased out when the owner is not using it. Kim has not, to our knowledge, published the tail number herself. If she or her representatives ever do, that would replace the press link with a direct one.
Inside Kim Air: the cashmere cabin she showed on TV
The best-documented part of this story is the interior. SlashGear reports that the pillows, headrests, overhead bins and ceiling are covered in light-colored cashmere, and that the interior was furnished by designers including Tommy Clements and Waldo Fernandez. That is one outlet’s account, so we attribute it rather than state it as settled.
The cabin appeared on screen in The Kardashians, which is how most people have seen it. What the footage shows is a neutral palette: cream and beige surfaces, soft upholstery, and very little that looks like a traditional aircraft cabin. It is a deliberate contrast to the usual wood-and-leather business jet look.
For context on how this compares with other custom cabins, our guide to private jet interiors walks through the layouts and finishes buyers can specify on large-cabin jets, from sleeping suites to galley and lounge configurations.
Why a G650ER cabin suits this look
The G650 family has a wide, tall cabin by business jet standards, which gives designers room for full-size seating groups and a separate sleeping area. That is a general feature of the type and the reason it is popular with owners who want a heavily customized interior. It is not a claim about how Kim’s specific layout is divided.
How much did Kim Kardashian’s plane cost?
There is no public sale record for this aircraft, so every figure is an estimate. SlashGear reported in 2023 that the customization put the jet’s value at $150 million, and its 2025 roundup repeats that the jet “reportedly” cost $150 million. That is the figure most often repeated online.
No outlet we could open gives a documented purchase price for the airframe alone. Lower numbers circulate on aviation blogs, but we found none tied to a named report, so we leave them out. A figure that includes the cabin work is a value estimate, not an invoice.
Our view: treat $150 million as a reported headline, not a verified price. For the model itself, our Gulfstream G650 price guide covers what new and used examples are listed for and how mileage and age move the number.
Running a G650ER and chartering one
Buying is the smaller part of the cost. An owner of a jet this size also pays for a crew, hangar space, insurance, maintenance programs, fuel and navigation fees every year whether the aircraft flies or not. Our breakdown of the cost of owning a private jet shows how those fixed and variable costs add up, and why many owners of large jets also lease them out to offset the expense.
If you only want the experience of a large-cabin, long-range jet, chartering is the practical route. Large jets in the G650 class are available through charter operators on a per-flight basis, and our private jet charter cost guide explains how hourly rates, positioning fees and trip length determine the final quote. Nothing about chartering requires an ownership commitment, and a one-way trip on a long-range jet can cost far less than a year of owning one.
Kardashian-Jenner jets side by side
The family has been covered by the press more than most, and the aircraft differ a lot:
- Kim Kardashian: a Gulfstream G650ER nicknamed Kim Air, registered to Noel Air LLC.
- Kylie Jenner: a Bombardier Global 7500 nicknamed Kylie Air. See our page on Kylie Jenner’s private jet.
- Kendall Jenner: see our page on Kendall Jenner’s private jet for what the record shows and does not show.

How we checked
On November 6, 2026 we searched the FAA aircraft registry by N-number for N1980K and read the full record: model, year, serial number, status, owner and certificate date. We then compared it with the press coverage of Kim Air, including SlashGear’s 2023 report on the aircraft, and listed prices only as reported estimates. An LLC on a registration is not proof of who controls it, so we state the registry facts as registry facts and the connection to Kim as reported.
Frequently Asked Questions
- How much is Kim Kardashian's private jet?
- There is no public sale record. SlashGear reported in 2023 that the custom interior put the jet's value at $150 million, and repeated the figure in 2025. We found no named report of the airframe's purchase price, so treat $150 million as a reported estimate, not an invoice.
- What kind of plane does Kim Kardashian have?
- A Gulfstream G650ER, nicknamed Kim Air. The FAA registry lists tail number N1980K as a Gulfstream GVI built in 2011, serial 6011, registered to Noel Air LLC in West Hollywood, California, with the current certificate issued on January 13, 2022.
- Does Kim Kardashian own a private jet?
- Press coverage says yes, and the aircraft is registered to Noel Air LLC, a company whose name matches her middle name. The registry shows the LLC, not an individual, so the personal link is reported rather than recorded. We have not seen a public confirmation of the tail number from her.
- Why is it called Kim Air?
- Because the press and fans named it after her; it is a nickname, not a registered name. The aircraft's official identity is its tail number, N1980K. SlashGear, among others, says the jet is dubbed Kim Air, and it became widely known after appearing on Hulu's The Kardashians.
