Does Rihanna have a private jet? Not that any public record shows. We searched the FAA aircraft registry and found no aircraft registered to her or to any company we could tie to her. The jet most people picture when they search “Rihanna private jet” is a Boeing 777 from her 2012 tour, and that was a one-week trip with 150 journalists aboard, not an aircraft she bought.
This page separates the three things that get mixed together under her name: what the registry shows, what the 777 Tour was, and which tail number the internet wrongly gave her.
The short answer
No aircraft is publicly registered to Rihanna, and we could not confirm that she owns one. Her best-known private flight was the 2012 777 Tour, which Complex reported flew on a Delta Boeing 777, an airline aircraft rather than a jet in her name. The tail number N767CJ that circulates online is the Boeing 767 that aviation press has tied to Drake.
Does Rihanna Have a Private Jet?
The FAA publishes a searchable registry of every U.S.-registered aircraft. On November 6, 2026 we ran a name search for “FENTY”, the surname of her business and legal name. It returned a single piston Piper registered to an individual with an unrelated first name, and nothing registered to her or to a company of hers.
What a 2013 report did and did not say
A 2013 report carried by Business Standard, attributed to unnamed sources, described her as a heavy spender on yachts and private jets. That is a claim about spending on trips, not about ownership. Chartering a jet by the hour fits that description exactly, and the report names no aircraft.
The 777 Tour: Seven Shows, Seven Days, One Airliner
Bustle reported in 2012 that Rihanna announced the 777 Tour on October 31 to celebrate her seventh album, Unapologetic. It ran from November 14 to November 20, 2012: seven shows in seven days in seven cities across North America and Europe.
The route
According to Bustle, the plane left Los Angeles for Mexico City, then continued to Toronto, Stockholm, Paris, Berlin and London, and finished in New York. The stops imply seven countries.
Who was on board
Bustle reported that Rihanna invited 150 journalists and a group of fans to fly with her for the whole week. A widebody airliner carrying that many guests is a tour logistics decision, built around the album’s name.
Whose plane it was
Complex, in its November 20, 2012 account of the trip, described the aircraft as “a Delta Boeing 777 twinjet.” That makes it an airline’s aircraft flown for the tour, not one registered to her.
Why Stars Like Rihanna Charter Instead of Buy
For someone who travels in bursts, such as a tour or an album campaign, chartering usually costs less than owning. Ownership brings fixed costs that run whether the aircraft flies or not: crew, hangar, insurance, maintenance programs and depreciation. Our guide to the cost of owning a private jet walks through each line.
Chartering turns those fixed costs into a per-trip price, and it lets the passenger pick the aircraft that fits each trip. A week-long tour needs a plane with room for a crowd. A weekend trip needs a small, fast jet. One owned aircraft cannot be both.
The other route is a prepaid program. Our jet card cost guide explains how jet cards lock in hourly rates without buying anything.
What Chartering a Large Jet Costs
Large-cabin and airliner-class charter is priced by the flight hour, plus fuel, landing and handling fees, crew costs on multi-day trips and taxes. The rate depends on the aircraft, the route and the season, so we do not quote a single number here. Our private jet charter cost guide breaks down what goes into a quote, with current ranges by jet class.
Why N767CJ Is Not Rihanna’s Jet
The tail number N767CJ is sometimes attached to Rihanna online. FAA registry records show N767CJ is a Boeing 767-24Q, registered to Bank of Utah Trustee. The aviation site aeroTELEGRAPH reported in May 2019 that this registration flies as “Air Drake,” the Boeing 767 tied to Drake through his ambassador deal with the Canadian cargo airline Cargojet. Nothing links it to her.
The mix-up spreads because celebrity jet stories are often copied from page to page without anyone opening the registry. A trustee name on a registration is also easy to misread as an owner. We do the same check on every page in our celebrity private jets series, including Jay-Z’s.
How We Checked
We read the FAA aircraft registry on November 6, 2026. We searched by owner name for FENTY and by registration for N767CJ. We then read the Bustle and Complex coverage of the 777 Tour, aeroTELEGRAPH’s report on N767CJ and the Business Standard report on her spending. We did not use flight trackers, and we publish no live movements. If a registration is ever tied to her by a named outlet or filing, we will add it with the source.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Does Rihanna own a private jet?
- We found no aircraft registered to Rihanna in the FAA registry on November 6, 2026, and no named outlet that ties a registration to her. That does not prove she has never owned one, because owners often register through LLCs. For now, the record shows charter flights, not ownership.
- How much does Rihanna's private jet cost?
- There is no confirmed Rihanna jet to price. For comparison, a large-cabin jet costs tens of millions of dollars to buy new, and chartering one is billed by the flight hour. Our charter cost guide and ownership cost guide show the real ranges by aircraft class.
- What plane did Rihanna use for the 777 Tour?
- A Delta Boeing 777, according to Complex. Bustle reported that the 2012 777 Tour flew from Los Angeles through Mexico City, Toronto, Stockholm, Paris, Berlin and London to New York over seven days. Neither outlet gives the aircraft's registration.
- Is Rihanna's jet the same as Drake's?
- No. The tail number N767CJ, sometimes credited to Rihanna, is a Boeing 767-24Q registered to Bank of Utah Trustee, and aeroTELEGRAPH reported in 2019 that it flies as Drake's "Air Drake." We found no registration publicly tied to Rihanna.
