Drake’s private jet is a Boeing 767 he calls Air Drake. The FAA registry lists tail number N767CJ as a 1996 Boeing 767-24Q, and the registered owner is Bank of Utah Trustee in Salt Lake City, not Drake by name.
SlashGear, in an article updated in February 2026, identifies Air Drake as N767CJ, previously registered N767KS. Other press reports tie the plane to Canadian cargo airline Cargojet. This page lays out what the registry says, how the plane reached him according to the press, why the headline price figures are estimates, and what a normal large private jet looks like by comparison.
The short answer
Drake flies a Boeing 767 known as Air Drake. FAA records checked on November 6, 2026 list N767CJ, a 1996 Boeing 767-24Q, registered to Bank of Utah Trustee. The Drive reported in 2019 that Cargojet gave Drake the plane in exchange for publicity. Estimates of its value range from about $185 million to over $220 million, and none of them is an official figure.
What Plane Does Drake Have?
The FAA N-number inquiry for N767CJ, read on November 6, 2026, shows the following.

| Year built | 1996 |
| Serial number | 28270 |
| Status | Valid |
| Registration type | Corporation |

A registration through a bank trustee is a common legal route for aircraft owners. It tells us who holds the title as trustee. It does not tell us who the beneficiary is, and it neither proves nor disproves Drake’s ownership. The link between N767CJ and Air Drake comes from press coverage, which we cite below.
From Cargo Jet to Air Drake: The Reported Cargojet Deal
The Drive reported in 2019 that Cargojet, a Canadian company, gave Drake the plane in exchange for publicity. In that account, all Drake owes in return is to show off the jet as often as possible. The article describes a baby blue exterior with two of his personal logos and “Air Drake” on the engines, and an interior with woodwork, gold accents and leather seating.
CBS News reported on May 13, 2019 that Drake unveiled the plane on Instagram that Friday, and that he said “No rental, no timeshare.” CBS said the personalized plane was created with Cargojet.
Press accounts do not agree on the exact variant. CBS described a 767-300F cargo model, while the FAA lists a 767-24Q built in 1996, and Live and Let’s Fly, citing Simple Flying, called it a 22-year-old 767-200. We use the FAA model because it is the registry record.
We found no named outlet reporting a sale or a change of owner since then. The FAA registry is the place to check the current record for N767CJ.
How Much Is Drake’s Private Jet Worth?
The headline numbers are estimates. CBS News ran the headline that the plane “could cost more than $187 million,” but its article gives about $185 million as the price of a new 767-300F before customization, and says it is unclear exactly how much Drake spent. The same article puts used 767-300F planes at about $10 million.
Other outlets went higher or lower. The Drive, citing E! Online, reported that the renovation alone was estimated at $80 million to $100 million, and added that Drake paid nothing for the plane. Live and Let’s Fly disputed the $220 million figure, noting that some outlets did not say whether it was US or Canadian dollars. It argued that a used airliner sells for far less than a new one.
None of these is a sale price. If Cargojet supplied the plane under a promotional arrangement, as The Drive reported, there may never have been a purchase price to report. Treat any single dollar figure as a media estimate.
Boeing 767 vs a Normal Large Private Jet
A Boeing 767 is an airliner. Most people with a very large private jet buy a business jet instead: a purpose-built aircraft with a smaller cabin, lower running costs and access to smaller airports. Our guide to the biggest private jets in the world shows where airliner-based jets sit in the size ranking.
A Gulfstream G650 is typical of the large-cabin business jet class, and our G650 price guide covers what one costs. An airliner needs a long runway and ground support that most private airports cannot supply, and its operating costs sit in a different range from a business jet’s.
What It Costs to Fly Like Drake
You cannot rent Air Drake, but you can charter a large-cabin jet for the same kind of trip. Charter is priced per flight hour, plus fees, and the amount depends on the aircraft category and route. Our private jet charter cost guide shows how a quote is built.
How We Checked
On November 6, 2026 we read the FAA N-number inquiry for N767CJ and recorded the model, year, serial number, status, registered owner and certificate date. We then read The Drive, CBS News and Live and Let’s Fly for the link to Drake and the value estimates. We did not use content sites that give a price without a source. A registry record shows the legal owner on file, so any beneficiary behind the trust would not appear.

Frequently Asked Questions
- How much is Drake's private jet?
- No official figure exists. CBS News ran a headline of more than $187 million in 2019, based on about $185 million for a new 767-300F before customization, while The Drive reported Cargojet gave him the plane and Live and Let's Fly disputed the $220 million claim. All are estimates.
- What type of plane does Drake have?
- A Boeing 767. FAA records list N767CJ as a 767-24Q built in 1996, in the 767-200 series, with General Electric CF6-80C2B7F engines. Press accounts differ on the exact variant, and CBS described it as a 767-300F.
- Does Drake own a plane?
- Press reports link N767CJ to Drake, who showed the Boeing 767 on Instagram in 2019. The FAA lists the registered owner as Bank of Utah Trustee, so the registry does not name him. A trustee registration does not prove or disprove his ownership.
- Who gave Drake his plane?
- The Drive reported in 2019 that Canadian cargo airline Cargojet gave Drake the plane in exchange for publicity, with Drake showing it off as often as possible. CBS also said it was created with Cargojet. The terms of the deal were not published, so the details are unconfirmed.
