Does Shaq have a private jet? He is one of the few NBA names press reports link to an owned aircraft, a Bombardier Challenger 605 with the registration N3250N. The current FAA record, though, shows that tail number registered to a Wyoming company, and whether he still uses the jet is not public.

This page covers what the aircraft is, what the registry shows, and how basketball players and teams fly more generally.

The short answer

Reported, but not currently confirmed. AeroCorner links Challenger 605 N3250N to Shaquille O’Neal. FAA records show that aircraft registered since June 2025 to Garrote Aviation LLC in Wyoming, and nothing public ties that company to him.

The Challenger 605: what it is and why a tall owner might pick it

AeroCorner reported in October 2026 that O’Neal showed off his first jet in July 2023 with a “Dunkman” logo on the tail. It said early reports called the aircraft a Challenger 650 and that GlobalAir corrected the type to the Challenger 605, with Simple Flying identifying it as N3250N, a 2010 Challenger 605. That is a single source for the link between O’Neal and the aircraft, so we attribute it.

The Challenger 600 series is known for a wide cabin among business jets in its class, which is the obvious appeal for a passenger of his height. That is our inference about why the type suits him, not something he has said. For how the class compares, see our best mid-size private jets guide and the Bombardier private jet price list.

What the FAA Registry Shows Now

The FAA registry lists N3250N as a Bombardier CL-600-2B16, built in 2010, with serial number 5849. That model designation covers the Challenger 600 series, and the 605 variant comes from AeroCorner and GlobalAir rather than the registry page itself.

The status is valid, and the registered owner is Garrote Aviation LLC in Jackson, Wyoming, with a certificate dated June 5, 2025. AeroCorner notes that the register “does not say who stands behind Garrote Aviation.” So the accurate version is that the jet was re-registered to a Wyoming LLC in June 2025, and whether O’Neal still uses it is not public.

The N724S mix-up

Some sites give N724S as his jet. The FAA lists N724S as a 1962 Beech P35 Bonanza, a small piston single owned by an unrelated company, so it is not a business jet linked to him. Lists that credit him with a 767, a Global 6000 or a G650 come without a registration or a named source.

Basketball private jet charter: how teams and players fly

NBA teams generally travel by chartered aircraft rather than on airline schedules. We did not open a source naming a carrier for a particular team, so we do not name one.

Players with a personal schedule can charter by the trip, prepay hours on a card, or own, as the few who do. The cost depends on aircraft size, route and season. We keep current ranges and a worked example in our private jet charter cost guide rather than repeat numbers here.

For a very different answer, read our LeBron James private jet page, where the player says he owns none. Sports team owners appear in our Mat Ishbia private jet page.

How we checked

We read the FAA registry page for N3250N on 06/11/2026 and searched owner names SHAQUILLE, ONEAL and ONEAL SHAQUILLE. We read AeroCorner’s October 2026 roundup of NBA jets for the link to O’Neal. We did not open Simple Flying or GlobalAir directly.

Registered owners are usually LLCs, so a registry entry is never proof of who uses an aircraft. See all our celebrity private jets.
