The Cessna Citation price runs from about $6.15 million for a new Citation M2 Gen2 to just under $30 million for a Citation Longitude. In between sit the CJ3 Gen2 at a $10.99 million base price (Aviation Week, 2023), the CJ4 Gen2 at about $11.5 million, the Latitude at roughly $18 million and the newest model, the Citation Ascend, at an estimated $16.7 million (AirData News, 2025).

Textron Aviation publishes no price list. Each model page on its site, read in November 2026, sends you to a sales representative, so every figure below is a reported one, named by source and year. Read them as a working range for a new aircraft with a basic specification, then ask for a completed price on the exact build you want. One table, the whole current range. Prices are reported new prices; range, seats and speed are Textron’s published figures. Where a model has been renamed, the Textron page currently shows the next-generation name with the same published numbers. The M2, CJ3 and CJ4 have Gen2 versions in production and Gen3 versions announced (more on that below).

Two cautions on the table. First, the Stratos Jets figures come from a broker’s buyers guide, which attributes the M2, CJ3 and Ascend numbers to Business Jet Traveler and the CJ4 number to Flying without giving the year of either, and gives no source for the Latitude and Longitude. Treat those as indicative. Second, “seats” is Textron’s maximum number of occupants, a ceiling that few owners configure for: most buyers trade seats for space. The Ascend’s 1,940 nm is quoted with four passengers (Textron Aviation, 2026).

The Light Citations

The three light Citations share a cabin cross-section: 57 inches high and 58 inches wide, per Textron Aviation. They differ in length, and length is mostly what the extra money buys. If you are comparing the smallest cabins on the market, see our guide to the smallest private jets in the world.

Citation M2 Price

The Citation M2 price is the entry point to new Citation ownership: about $6.15 million, a figure Stratos Jets attributes to Business Jet Traveler in its August 2024 guide. Textron lists the M2 at a maximum range of 1,550 nm, seating for up to seven, an 11 ft cabin and a maximum cruise speed of 404 ktas (Textron Aviation, 2026).

At 1,550 nm it is a regional jet for a small group, not an ocean crosser. If the trips you actually take are short, the M2 is the cheapest way into the family; if they are not, the extra range of the larger models is what the extra money buys.

Citation CJ3 Price

The Citation CJ3 price is $10.99 million for the Gen2 base aircraft, according to Aviation Week’s October 2023 report on its unveiling. The CJ3 line is rated to 2,040 nm with up to nine occupants, a 15 ft 8 in cabin and a cruise speed of 416 ktas (Textron Aviation, 2026).

The step up from the M2 buys a cabin about four and a half feet longer and roughly 490 nm more range. For many owner-pilots and small companies, that is the sweet spot of the family: long enough for a proper club seating arrangement and a lavatory area, still light enough to use short runways.

Citation CJ4 Price

The Citation CJ4 price sits at about $11.5 million for the Gen2, a figure Stratos Jets attributes to Flying magazine in its August 2024 guide. Textron lists 2,165 nm of range, up to 10 occupants, a 17 ft 4 in cabin and 451 ktas of cruise speed (Textron Aviation, 2026). Aviation Week reported in October 2024 that the CJ4 Gen2 was introduced in February 2021.

The CJ4 is the fastest of the three light Citations and the one with the longest cabin. The price gap to the CJ3 Gen2 looks small on paper, about half a million dollars between the two reported figures, but the two numbers come from different sources and different years. Ask a dealer for current quotes on both before reading too much into it.

Gen2 Now, Gen3 Next

Textron unveiled Gen3 versions of the M2, CJ3 and CJ4 on the eve of NBAA-BACE in October 2024, per Aviation Week. Aviation Week reported at the time that the CJ4 Gen3 was projected to enter service in 2026 and the M2 Gen3 and CJ3 Gen3 in 2027, and that owners of some Gen2 aircraft would be offered a service bulletin to add Garmin’s Emergency Autoland after certification. Aviation Week gave no prices for the Gen3 aircraft, and neither does Textron’s site. Expect the reported prices above to move when Gen3 deliveries start.

The Midsize Citations

Above the light jets, the cabin changes shape. The Latitude and Longitude share a 77 inch wide, 72 inch high cabin with a flat floor, per Textron Aviation, which makes it the roomier of the two cross-sections. The Ascend is the newer, smaller-section cabin of the three. For a broader look at the class, read our guide to the best mid-size private jets.

Citation Latitude Price

The Citation Latitude price is about $18 million new, according to Stratos Jets in August 2024, which names no source for it. A better market signal is the used side. AvBuyer’s Latitude price guide, updated May 2025, gives Aircraft Bluebook pre-owned values rising from $17.5 million for a 2020 aircraft to $19.5 million for a 2024 aircraft. The same page shows 11 aircraft for sale with asking prices from $18.75 million to $22.5 million, citing JETNET data.

Those used numbers sit at or above the reported new price, which tells you something: either the new-price figure above is out of date, or equipped examples carry more than a base aircraft does, or both. Either way, do not assume a nearly new Latitude is a discount.

Textron lists the Latitude at 2,700 nm of maximum range, up to nine occupants, a 21 ft 9 in cabin and 446 ktas of maximum cruise speed (Textron Aviation, 2026).

Citation Longitude Price

The Citation Longitude price is just under $30 million new, again per Stratos Jets in August 2024 without a named source. Textron lists 3,500 nm of range, up to 12 occupants, a 25 ft 2 in cabin and a maximum cruise speed of 483 ktas (Textron Aviation, 2026).

It is the Citation for owners who want the same cabin cross-section as the Latitude with a cabin about three and a half feet longer and 800 nm more range, per Textron’s published figures for the two models.

Citation Ascend Price

The Citation Ascend price is an estimated list price of about $16.7 million, according to AirData News in November 2025; Stratos Jets repeats a Business Jet Traveler figure of $16.725 million. Textron received FAA type certification on November 5, 2025, after the two test aircraft flew more than 1,000 hours (AirData News, 2025). AvWeb reported on November 6, 2025 a maximum speed of 441 ktas and a range of 1,940 nm with a 900 pound full-fuel payload.

Textron’s cabin figures for the Ascend are 18 ft 6 in long, 66 inches wide and 60 inches high (68 inches with the optional taller cabin), with up to 12 occupants (Textron Aviation, 2026). AirData News named the Embraer Phenom 300E as a rival with similar range and capacity but a smaller cabin, and the Praetor 500 as one with greater range at a higher price. Aviation Week noted in 2023 that the Citation XLS Gen2 had become the Ascend, which puts it in the line of the old Excel and XLS.

Used Only: Citation X and Older Models

Some of the most talked-about Citations are no longer built. They matter because they set the used-market tone for everything newer.

Citation X Price

The Citation X price on the used market starts around $3 million for higher-time late-1990s aircraft, per AvBuyer’s December 2015 review of Citation X transactions, which also said the few X+ models for sale were asking around $19 million. Those figures are nearly a decade old, so use them as shape, not as today’s price. AvBuyer reported the Citation X was built from 1996 to 2012, and that the X+ arrived in 2014 with a maximum speed of Mach 0.935, which it described as joint-fastest among civil aircraft alongside the Gulfstream G650. For the current speed record holders, see our guide to the fastest private jets in the world.

Excel, XLS and CJ2

The Excel and XLS are the midsize ancestors of today’s Ascend, and the CJ2 is the older light jet below the CJ3. Neither has a current published price from a named source, and condition spreads the market widely. If you are shopping them, look at recent sold comparables from a dealer, not at asking prices alone, and check that the avionics and engine program enrollment are current.

Citation vs Rivals

The Citation range competes mainly with Embraer and Bombardier at the light and midsize end. For the Ascend, AirData News (November 2025) put the Embraer Phenom 300E at a similar range and capacity with a smaller cabin, and the Praetor 500 at greater range and higher price. For the Phenom, our Phenom 300 price guide covers the figures. Bombardier’s Challenger line, the usual rival for the Longitude, is laid out in our Bombardier private jet price list.
