The biggest private jets in the world are airliners converted for VIP use, led by the Boeing 747-8 BBJ, which is about 250 feet long. The largest jets built from the start as business jets are the Gulfstream G700 and the Bombardier Global 8000 and 7500. They are a fraction of the size of a bizliner but have the biggest cabins in the business-jet class.
Which is “biggest” depends on what you measure: overall length, cabin floor area or cabin volume. This guide ranks them by each and says where we could not confirm a number.
The Biggest Private Jets: VIP Airliners
A bizliner is an airliner sold or converted as a private aircraft, usually by a government, a business or a wealthy individual. Boeing sells them as Boeing Business Jets (BBJ) and Airbus as Airbus Corporate Jets (ACJ).
1. Boeing 747-8 BBJ
Verdict: the largest private aircraft you can name.
Boeing’s 747-8 is 250 ft 2 in long. Boeing’s BBJ 747-8 VIP Turnkey Program describes a VIP version that carries 75 passengers up to 8,500 nm with nearly 5,000 square feet of premium cabin space. Boeing’s 747-8 design highlights page lists the 747-8 Intercontinental at 76.3 m (250 ft 2 in) long.
2. ACJ350 XWB
Verdict: the longest-range bizliner and the largest from Airbus.
Airbus Corporate Jets lists the ACJ350 at 66.8 m (219 ft 2 in) long with a 51.04 m (167 ft 5 in) cabin, a cabin floor area of 270 m² (2,905 sq ft), and a maximum range of 11,100 nm with 25 passengers.
3. BBJ 777X
Boeing launched the BBJ 777X as a VIP version of the 777X in December 2018, according to its launch release. We found no report of a delivered aircraft, so we treat it as not yet in service and give no specifications for it.
4. BBJ 787
The BBJ 787-8 and 787-9 are the widebody VIP version of the Dreamliner. Boeing’s BBJ 787 one-pager lists a cabin area of 2,340 sq ft and a 25-passenger range of 9,960 nmi for the 787-8, and 2,688 sq ft and 9,475 nmi for the 787-9, under NBAA rules with 25 passengers and baggage. The one-pager does not give an overall length.
5. ACJ330, ACJ TwoTwenty and the Narrowbody Bizliners
The ACJ330, ACJ TwoTwenty, the older BBJ 767 and 757, and the BBJ and ACJ narrowbody family (Boeing 737 and Airbus A320 family) are smaller bizliners than the widebodies above. We do not list figures for them here.
| Model | Length | Cabin floor area | Range | In VIP service | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| BBJ 747-8 | 250 ft 2 in | Nearly 5,000 sq ft (premium space) | 8,500 nm (VIP) | Yes | Boeing |
| ACJ350 | 219 ft 2 in | 2,905 sq ft (270 m²) | 11,100 nm with 25 passengers | Yes | Airbus |
| BBJ 787-8 | Not stated | 2,340 sq ft | 9,960 nmi (25 passengers) | Yes | Boeing |
| BBJ 787-9 | Not stated | 2,688 sq ft | 9,475 nmi (25 passengers) | Yes | Boeing |
The Largest Purpose-Built Business Jets
Purpose-built jets are much smaller than bizliners, but they cost far less to operate and can use smaller airports. The numbers below are from each maker’s own spec page.
1. Gulfstream G700
Verdict: the biggest cabin of any business jet currently in service, by Gulfstream’s published volume.
Cabin length 56 ft 11 in, width 8 ft 2 in, height 6 ft 3 in and volume 2,603 cubic feet, according to Gulfstream. Up to five living areas, up to 19 seats, and a range of 7,750 nm at Mach 0.85. Max operating speed is Mach 0.935. See our Gulfstream G700 price page.
2. Gulfstream G800
Verdict: the G700’s width in a shorter body.
Cabin length 46 ft 10 in, width 8 ft 2 in, height 6 ft 3 in and volume 2,138 cubic feet. Range is 8,200 nm at Mach 0.85, with up to four living areas and up to 19 seats.
3. Bombardier Global 8000
Verdict: a near-G700 cabin with the fastest top speed in the class.
Bombardier lists a cabin length of 54 ft 5 in, height 6 ft 2 in and width 8 ft 0 in, a range of 8,000 nm and a top speed of Mach 0.95. Up to 19 passengers, with four living spaces. The page does not list cabin volume, so we cannot place it against the G700 by volume. The G700’s cabin is longer (56 ft 11 in versus 54 ft 5 in) and taller (6 ft 3 in versus 6 ft 2 in).
4. Bombardier Global 7500
The Global 7500 is the predecessor to the 8000 and is sold alongside it. Bombardier’s Global 7500 factsheet lists a cabin 54 ft 5 in long, 8 ft 0 in wide and 6 ft 2 in high, a range of 7,700 nm with NBAA IFR reserves, an overall length of 111 ft and a wingspan of 104 ft. The cabin dimensions match the Global 8000, which has the longer range.
5. Dassault Falcon 10X
Verdict: the largest cabin on paper, not yet flying commercially.
Dassault lists the 10X at a cabin length of 53.10 ft, width 109 in, height 80 in and volume 2,780 cubic feet, with a range of 7,500 nm and up to 19 passengers. Business Jet Traveler reported in July 2026 that the 10X made its first flight on June 19, 2026 and that Dassault moved entry into service from 2027 to 2029.
6. Dassault Falcon 8X
Cabin length 42.7 ft, width 92 in, height 74 in and volume 1,695 cubic feet, with a range of 6,450 nm and 12 to 16 passengers, according to Dassault.
7. Gulfstream G650ER
Aviation Week lists the G650ER’s range at about 7,500 nm with eight passengers and four crew at Mach 0.85. It is an older design than the G700 and G800.
| Model | Cabin length | Cabin height | Cabin volume | Range | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Gulfstream G700 | 56 ft 11 in | 6 ft 3 in | 2,603 ft³ | 7,750 nm | Gulfstream |
| Gulfstream G800 | 46 ft 10 in | 6 ft 3 in | 2,138 ft³ | 8,200 nm | Gulfstream |
| Bombardier Global 8000 | 54 ft 5 in | 6 ft 2 in | Not stated | 8,000 nm | Bombardier |
| Falcon 10X | 53.10 ft | 80 in | 2,780 ft³ | 7,500 nm | Dassault |
| Falcon 8X | 42.7 ft | 74 in | 1,695 ft³ | 6,450 nm | Dassault |
Overall airframe lengths are not in the table because the makers’ pages we read do not all print them. The one we did read, Bombardier’s Global 7500 factsheet, lists 111 ft.
Large Cabin Private Jets Compared
“Large cabin” is not an official category. In practice it describes a cabin tall enough to stand up in, with room for several distinct living areas. Every aircraft in the second table above has a stand-up cabin: the makers list heights between 6 ft 2 in and 6 ft 3 in for the Gulfstreams and Bombardier, 80 inches for the Falcon 10X and 74 inches for the Falcon 8X.
What that gets you in practice is separate zones for dining, working and sleeping. Gulfstream counts up to five living areas on the G700, and Bombardier counts four living spaces on the Global 8000. For which of these have actual bedrooms and which only have divans, see private jets with beds. For the rest of the cabin, see private jet interior.
The other measure that matters is how far the jet flies. See longest range private jets.
Who Owns the Biggest Private Jets?
Widebody purchase and running costs are beyond almost any individual. We only name cases that a tier-1 or tier-2 source documents.
The best-documented recent case is the Boeing 747-8 BBJ, msn 37075, which the Qatari government gave to the US government in July 2025, according to ch-aviation. The US Air Force took delivery on June 19, 2026, and it serves as an interim Air Force One while the Air Force prepares two 747-8s, due in 2028, to replace the two VC-25A aircraft now flying, ch-aviation reported on June 23, 2026. UPI reported in May 2025 that press estimates put the aircraft at about $400 million, the price experts gave for a new 747-8; that is an estimate, not an appraisal.
We do not name private individuals as owners of widebody jets without a registry record or a tier-2 report. Claims about specific celebrity and royal aircraft that circulate without a source are not repeated here.
What a Bizliner Costs
Boeing and Airbus do not publish green-aircraft prices, and the figures in circulation vary widely by source and date. A bizliner has two costs: the base aircraft (“green”) and the completion, which is the VIP interior. We did not find a credible published price for either the green aircraft or the completion of the 747-8, 787 or ACJ350, so we give no figure.
Even a rough budget is far above any business jet. For how these costs build up, see cost of owning a private jet. For the largest jets that individuals actually buy, see the Bombardier private jet price list.
