Jeff Bezos added a Gulfstream G700 to his fleet in 2024, Business Jet Traveler reported, and Business Insider reported that his oldest Gulfstream G650ER was listed for sale later that year. That jet’s listing came after the new one arrived, and the tail number most articles quote for it no longer belongs to any aircraft. Here is what the FAA registry and the press each say.

The short answer

Reports say Bezos has a Gulfstream G700 delivered in 2024 (tail N11AF), plus Gulfstream G650ER jets. The FAA confirms N11AF is a 2024 G700 owned by a corporation, but the owner’s name is withheld. N271DV, the G650ER tail older articles name, is now unassigned.

What Kind of Plane Does Jeff Bezos Have?

Business Jet Traveler reported in August 2024 that Bezos added a Gulfstream G700 to his fleet, and that the registration was N11AF. The report credits Jack Sweeney, a college student who tracks aircraft, with being the first to flag it on X. The same article says Bezos also has two Gulfstream G650 jets and a smaller Pilatus PC-24, which makes the G700 his fourth jet, and it puts the G700 at around $80 million.

We looked up N11AF in the FAA registry on November 6, 2026. It returns a Gulfstream GVIII-G700, manufactured in 2024, with a certificate issued July 15, 2024. The registration type is corporation. The owner field says the registered owner asked to keep the data private under Title 49 of the United States Code, Section 44114.

The registry therefore confirms the aircraft, the year, and that a corporation holds it. It does not name the corporation, so the link to Bezos rests on the press report.

The G700 Delivery in 2024

The Gulfstream G700 is Gulfstream’s flagship. Gulfstream lists a maximum operating altitude of 51,000 ft, a range of up to 7,750 nautical miles at Mach 0.85 (a theoretical figure with eight passengers, four crew and NBAA IFR reserves), and a takeoff distance of 5,995 ft at sea level, ISA, maximum takeoff weight (Gulfstream G700 specifications page, 2026). It also lists a maximum operating Mach number of 0.935.

For comparison, see our page on Gulfstream G700 price. The press estimate of about $80 million for the Bezos aircraft comes from Business Jet Traveler and should be read as an estimate: list prices depend on interior and options.

The G650ER For Sale and the Registration Shuffle

Business Insider reported on November 19, 2024 that Bezos’s oldest G650ER, a 2015 aircraft registered N271DV, was listed on the Controller marketplace for about $39 million. The AOL page we read republishes that article.

The FAA now shows N271DV as reserved, meaning the number is held but attached to no aircraft. That fits a plane that has been sold or re-registered under another number.

Why tail numbers change

Owners re-register aircraft for several reasons: a sale, a move to a different holding company, or a request for a specific number. The FAA allows owners to request a particular available N-number, and it allows them to keep their name off the public record. Neither of these tells you why a given owner made a given change, and we will not guess.

G700 vs G650ER

Both are ultra-long-range, large-cabin Gulfstream jets, and the G700 is the newer design (G700 certificate issued 2024 per the FAA record, G650ER N271DV built 2015). For specs and used-market prices of the older jet, see Gulfstream G650 price, and for how each ranks on range, see the longest-range private jets.

Aviation Week lists the G650ER at 7,500 nautical miles at Mach 0.85 with eight passengers and four crew, and a cabin 46 ft 10 in long, 8 ft 2 in wide and 6 ft 3 in high, seating up to 19. Gulfstream lists the G700 at 7,750 nautical miles with a cabin 56 ft 11 in long, the same width and height, and up to five living areas. In short, the G700 adds cabin length and living space and a little range, while the G650ER is the older design.

What It Costs to Fly a Gulfstream Like His

Owning a jet like this means fixed costs for crew, insurance, hangar and maintenance on top of the purchase price. Our page on the cost of owning a private jet explains the pieces. If you want to fly in the same class without owning, private jet charter cost shows how charter quotes are built.

How We Checked

On November 6, 2026 we looked up N11AF and N271DV in the FAA aircraft registry. We read the Business Jet Traveler report on the G700 and the Business Insider report, via AOL, on the G650ER listing. The registry shows aircraft, not people: where an owner is private or an LLC, we say so and attribute the link to Bezos to the outlet that made it. Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of plane does Jeff Bezos have?
Business Jet Traveler reported in 2024 that he added a Gulfstream G700, tail N11AF, to a fleet that includes Gulfstream G650 jets and a Pilatus PC-24. The FAA confirms N11AF as a 2024 G700 held by a corporation with a private owner name.
How many private jets does Jeff Bezos own?
Reports say several. Business Jet Traveler counts four, including the G700, but the registry only confirms what sits under each tail number. Owner names are often withheld or held through companies, so we cannot verify a count.
How much is Jeff Bezos's private jet?
Business Jet Traveler put the G700 at around $80 million, and Business Insider reported his oldest G650ER listed at about $39 million in 2024. Both are press figures, not purchase records.
Why did Bezos change his tail number?
We do not know, and he has not said. Owners re-register aircraft after a sale, a move to a new holding company, or to get a different number. N271DV now shows as reserved with no aircraft attached.
