The longest range private jets are the Gulfstream G800 at 8,200 nautical miles and the Bombardier Global 8000 at 8,000, according to the figures each manufacturer publishes. Converted airliners such as the Boeing Business Jet 787 go further still, but they are airliners fitted out as private jets, not purpose-built business jets.

Below is the ranking, the spec table, how far a private jet can fly in practice, what the number on a spec sheet actually means, and how ultra-long-range charter works.

Longest range private jets, ranked

We ranked purpose-built business jets by the published maximum range. The figures come from each manufacturer’s current page, read on November 6, 2026, except where we note otherwise. All are quoted under the same convention of eight passengers, four crew and NBAA IFR reserves at Mach 0.85, so they are comparable with one another.

Gulfstream’s page for the G800 lists 8,200 nm at Mach 0.85 and 7,000 nm at Mach 0.90. Bombardier’s page lists the Global 8000 at 8,000 nm with a top speed of Mach 0.95. The two makers quote different top speeds, so a bare range figure is only half the picture, which we return to below.

The top of the list

  • Gulfstream G800: the longest published range of any purpose-built business jet in our check, at 8,200 nm. Gulfstream’s page lists seating for up to 19.
  • Bombardier Global 8000: 8,000 nm, with a top speed of Mach 0.95 on Bombardier’s page, the highest figure on this list.
  • Gulfstream G700: 7,750 nm at Mach 0.85, falling to 6,650 nm at Mach 0.90. See our Gulfstream G700 price guide for what it costs.
  • Bombardier Global 7500: 7,700 nm, a factsheet figure that assumes the same conditions. It is the jet behind some of the most photographed celebrity travel; see our page on Kylie Jenner’s private jet.
  • Gulfstream G650ER: 7,500 nm at Mach 0.85. Aviation Week notes that at Mach 0.90 its range drops to 6,400 nm. See the Gulfstream G650 price guide.

The next tier and the one in development

  • Dassault Falcon 10X: Dassault’s flagship is still in flight test. AIN reported that it flew for the first time on June 19, 2026, from Bordeaux-Merignac, with an expected eight-passenger range of 7,500 nm and a top speed of Mach 0.925. In July 2026 Business Jet Traveler reported that Dassault had moved service entry from 2027 to 2029. These are design figures for a jet that has not been certified.
  • Bombardier Global 6500 and Gulfstream G600: both list 6,600 nm. The G600 drops to 5,600 nm at Mach 0.90 on Gulfstream’s page.
  • Dassault Falcon 8X: Dassault’s launch release gave 6,450 nm with eight passengers and three crew at Mach 0.80. That is a different convention from the Bombardier and Gulfstream figures, so it is not a like-for-like comparison. Business Jet Traveler lists the 8X at 6,290 nm, using the Conklin & de Decker method.
  • Dassault Falcon 6X: 5,500 nm at Mach 0.80 with eight passengers, and 5,100 nm at Mach 0.85, according to Dassault Falcon’s backgrounder.

Bizliners: converted airliners with even more range

A bizliner is an airliner built or converted for private use. Because they start as airliners with large fuel capacity, they can fly farther than any business jet, and they carry far more people and furnishings. They also cost far more to buy and run.

  • Boeing Business Jet 787: an AIN report in May 2026 said Boeing claims about 9,260 nm for the BBJ 787-8, and that the program held 13 firm orders. Other sources give different figures for the 787-8, which varies with the interior and fuel load, so treat the exact number as approximate.
  • Boeing Business Jet 777X: Boeing announced the BBJ 777X at launch with ranges of 11,645 nm for the 777-8 and 11,000 nm for the 777-9. We found no source confirming a delivered BBJ 777X, and the airliner version had not entered service in our check, so it should not be called a record holder.
  • Airbus ACJ350 XWB: GlobalAir lists a range of 11,100 nm. That is the only source we found, and it is an aggregator, so we recommend checking Airbus before relying on it.
  • Airbus ACJ TwoTwenty: Airbus’s launch material said up to 5,650 nm, based on a smaller passenger load.

Our rule: a bizliner is a legitimate answer to “which private aircraft has the longest range”, but it is a different category from a business jet, and that is why the table above does not mix them.

How far can a private jet fly?

By category, a rough guide is that small and midsize jets are built for regional and transcontinental trips, large jets cover most intercontinental routes, and the ultra-long-range group on this page covers almost anything on the map. The word “nonstop” is the catch: it depends on the route, the load, the winds and the speed.

City pairs, measured

We computed great-circle distances with the haversine formula (Earth radius 3,440 nm) between the published coordinates of each city’s main international airport:

RouteGreat-circle distance (nm)
New York (JFK) to Tokyo (Haneda)About 5,870
Los Angeles (LAX) to Sydney (SYD)About 6,510
London (Heathrow) to Perth (PER)About 7,830

The practical meaning is simple. New York to Tokyo and Los Angeles to Sydney fit within the published range of the jets in the top two-thirds of our table, with the caveats below. London to Perth, at about 7,830 nm, is longer than any business jet’s published range, so it needs a stop. Only the converted airliners would cover it in one hop on paper.

Can a private jet cross the Pacific?

Yes, on paper. Los Angeles to Sydney is about 6,510 nm, which is under the published range of the G800, Global 8000, G700, Global 7500 and G650ER, as long as the trip is flown at the long-range speed and the load is light. Flown faster or heavier, the margin shrinks, which is why operators often plan a fuel stop in Hawaii or Fiji on the longest routes.

What “range” means on a spec sheet

The number on a spec sheet is the result of a standard test, not a promise for your trip. Bombardier and Gulfstream state it the same way: NBAA IFR reserves, ISA (standard atmosphere) conditions, Mach 0.85 cruise, eight passengers and four crew. NBAA IFR reserves means the aircraft must have enough fuel to divert to an alternate airport and still land with a reserve, which is why the stated range is shorter than the distance the fuel could theoretically cover.

Three things pull the real number down:

  • Speed. Gulfstream’s own pages show range dropping by 1,000 nm or more when you move from Mach 0.85 to Mach 0.90. The G800 goes from 8,200 nm to 7,000 nm, and the G600 from 6,600 nm to 5,600 nm.
  • Passengers and baggage. More weight means less range, so a full cabin flies a shorter distance than the spec-sheet load.
  • Weather and routing. Headwinds and air traffic routing add distance, which the test does not include.

When you compare two jets, check that the footnote conditions match. A figure quoted at Mach 0.80 and one quoted at Mach 0.85 are not the same measurement, as the Falcon entries above show.

Ultra long range jet charter

Chartering an ultra-long-range jet is the usual way to fly one. Companies and individuals who charter these aircraft do so for intercontinental trips with a single cabin, no connections and a flexible schedule. Pricing is per flight hour, plus positioning, fees and fuel, and the hourly rate for a large jet is much higher than for a midsize one. Our private jet charter cost guide explains how a quote is built, and our guide to the best private jet charter companies lists operators to compare.

If you want a jet with a bed for a long overnight leg, see our guide to the best private jets with beds.

What the longest range jets cost

New ultra-long-range jets sit at the top of the business jet price range, and prices vary with the interior and options, so we do not quote a single figure. For model-specific guides, see our Gulfstream G700 price and Gulfstream G650 price pages, and our Bombardier private jet price list for the Global family.

How we checked

On November 6, 2026 we read the manufacturer pages for the Gulfstream G800, G700 and G600, and the Bombardier Global 8000 and Global 6500. The Falcon 6X, Falcon 8X and Falcon 10X figures come from Dassault’s pages. The Global 7500 and Gulfstream G650ER figures come from the maker’s published materials as reported in the sources below. City-pair distances are our own great-circle (haversine) calculation between airport coordinates. Where we could not confirm a figure from the maker, we say so in the text.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which private jet has the longest range?
Of the purpose-built business jets we checked, the Gulfstream G800 has the longest published range at 8,200 nm at Mach 0.85, followed by the Bombardier Global 8000 at 8,000 nm. Converted airliners such as the BBJ 787 go farther, but they are airliners fitted out for private use.
How far can a private jet fly without refueling?
It depends on the model. Small jets cover a few thousand miles at most, while the ultra-long-range group on this page publishes 6,500 to 8,200 nautical miles at Mach 0.85. Real range is lower at higher speed or with a full load, so treat the spec sheet as a ceiling.
How far can a Gulfstream G650 fly?
The G650ER is published at 7,500 nautical miles at Mach 0.85 with eight passengers, four crew and NBAA IFR reserves, according to Gulfstream. Aviation Week notes that at Mach 0.90 the range drops to 6,400 nautical miles, so speed matters as much as the model.
Can a private jet fly across the Pacific?
Yes, with the right aircraft. Los Angeles to Sydney is about 6,510 nautical miles by our great-circle calculation, which is within the published range of the G800, Global 8000, G700, Global 7500 and G650ER on paper. Operators often add a fuel stop for margin.
What is the cheapest long range private jet?
We do not have a verified price ranking. Used large-cabin jets from earlier generations are generally the lower-cost way into long range, but prices depend on age, hours and interior. Our G650 and Bombardier price guides show what the models are listed for.
