Tyler Perry’s old Gulfstream V now belongs to a televangelist, and that sale is the best-documented fact about his private jets. What he flies today is reported by the press but not visible in the FAA registry under his name.
The short answer
Kenneth Copeland’s ministry bought Tyler Perry’s Gulfstream V, as reported by Christian Today in January 2018. The price was not disclosed. SlashGear reports that Perry took delivery of a Bombardier Global 7500 in January 2025, but we found no aircraft registered under his name.
Who bought Tyler Perry’s jet?
Christian Today reported on January 24, 2018 that Kenneth Copeland had just bought a Gulfstream V from Tyler Perry. The article notes that Copeland developed a productive relationship with the seller. It does not state a price, and Copeland did not disclose one.
Copeland’s own words
TheBlaze reported on June 3, 2019 that, in an interview with Inside Edition, Copeland said Perry made the jet “so cheap” that he “couldn’t help but buy it.” Copeland is a televangelist, and his church is Eagle Mountain International Church in Newark, Texas. We cover that fleet in our Kenneth Copeland private jet article.
What the registry says about the old tail number
The tail number most often attached to Perry online is N725TP. In the FAA registry on November 6, 2026, N725TP is deregistered. A search for the name “Perry Tyler” returned no aircraft, so we cannot trace his current jets through the public record.
The Gulfstream V deal, from both sides
The Gulfstream V is a large-cabin, long-range jet that Gulfstream introduced in the 1990s. It was built to fly intercontinental routes, and used examples remain in service today.
The seller’s side
Perry sold the aircraft and the jet moved to a ministry fleet. Christian Today reported the deal in January 2018, alongside a ministry appeal to raise $19.5 million for the jet’s technical upgrade, maintenance, a new hangar and runway improvements. We have no statement from Perry on the sale.
The buyer’s side
Copeland’s church shows a Gulfstream V on the FAA registry, N1967J, built in 2000 with a certificate date of December 13, 2017. That registration timing fits the reported deal, but we have not confirmed that it is the same airframe Perry owned, so we only say the timing matches.
What Tyler Perry is reported to fly now
SlashGear reported on November 12, 2025 that Perry took delivery of a Bombardier Global 7500 at an unspecified date in January 2025, and gave its registration as N378TP, with “TP” for his initials. That is the most specific recent report we found, and we cite it as reported, not as registry fact: we did not have an FAA record for N378TP on file when we checked.
Other jets that have been named
Other sites list further aircraft linked to Perry, including an Embraer Lineage 1000, a Gulfstream III or a newer Gulfstream. We found no named outlet or registry record that confirms them, so we leave them out.
Why the record is thin
Because the registry returns nothing under his name, the aircraft are probably held in entities we cannot search by celebrity name. That is common, and it means press reports are the only guide.
Global 7500 vs Gulfstream V: what changed in 20 years of big jets
The Global 7500 is a newer, much longer-range design from Bombardier. It belongs to the top tier of purpose-built business jets, with a cabin divided into living zones. Our ranking of the longest range private jets shows where it fits.
What stayed the same
Both are large-cabin jets meant to cross oceans with a small group of passengers. A Gulfstream V is still a capable intercontinental aircraft, which is why it found a buyer.
What a new one costs
For Bombardier prices across the line, including this class, see our Bombardier private jet price list. We do not quote a price for Perry’s aircraft because none has been confirmed.
Charter a Global-class jet
You can fly a jet in this class without owning one. Charter pricing for large-cabin jets depends on route, season and availability. Our private jet charter cost guide explains how to estimate it.
How we checked
On November 6, 2026 we searched the FAA aircraft registry for N725TP and by owner name for “Perry Tyler.” We also read Christian Today’s January 2018 report on the Copeland purchase and SlashGear’s 2025 report on the Global 7500.
An empty name search does not prove that Perry owns no aircraft. Aircraft are often registered to LLCs and trusts, so a missing name means the registry cannot connect a person to a jet, not that no jet exists.
